From the East…….

Brethren, Thank the Lord above for the impending change of season looming ever closer. If you’re reading this (except for a few of our brothers in northern climates), you’re probably going to make it the rest of the way.

We had our first stated meeting since May, and considering the brief ‘layoff’, it went pretty well. Bills got paid, our District Inspector (W. Thomas Johnson) came for his annual visit, and we had two past masters from the Imperial Valley attend. The Inspector passed along a few tidbits as to how we can perform better, which are always welcome suggestions. Our next stated meeting will take place the first Wednesday in October (which happens to be the 1st). No plan as to the dinner menu yet, but there will be one at 6pm, followed immediately by the meeting itself. If anyone would like to step up and / or has any suggestions, please contact me asap!

I have been penciling in names for next year’s officer lineup, and am excited to say that we are very close to having all positions filled! We will be discussing that further at the next meeting, and try to get it firmed up.

One final note - the Hiram Committee has voted yes on a candidate for the award, and it will be announced at the October stated meeting.

See you all then, and hopefully sooner,  and keep your eyes open for any potential prospects.

Fraternally,

Jeff Gatchell
